The felt sense is the door to unlocking trauma. Instead of facing trauma head-on, we use the felt sense as a navigational tool, in addition to utilizing relational and counseling skills to provide a space for healing to occur.

Seedlings

Identifying emotions in the body:

- Eyes - teary, feel heavy

- Clenched jaw

- Tensionor tightness in the chest or "heart"

- Sweaty or clammy hands

- Sore feet

- Cheeks or ears are hot

- Shoulders tense

- Stomach pain, butterflies, or "in knots"

- Clenched fists

- Restless, tapping

- etc. 

Every part of our experience has a message, a purpose, to bring us in greater harmony, balance and equilibrium. I guide the client in exploring how to listen and feel safe within

and without of the body.

Treat your emotions with CARE:

C - get CURIOUS about what this emotion or sensation is telling you

A - ASK your body, or the sensation/image etc., what it needs in the moment

R - RESPOND to your emotion without judgement

E - EXPRESS your emotion (shake, yell, cry, laugh, etc.)

Nervous system regulation results in a greater sense of connection to oneself and

the world at large. 

Sign of nervous system regulation:

- Slow and steady heart rate

- Calm emotions

- Calm Belly

- Flowing energy

- Even breath

- Even skintone

- Clear thinking

- Eye contact

- Empowered posture 

-Hearing calm and support words from family and friends
